Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your experienced guide who will accompany you throughout your journey. After exchanging pleasantries, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kigali, where you can relax and unwind after your flight.

Kigali, known for its rich history and stunning landscapes, offers a serene atmosphere and modern amenities. If time permits, you may enjoy a brief sightseeing tour around the city, visiting landmarks such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial or taking a leisurely stroll through the vibrant local markets. The evening is yours to enjoy, with a delicious dinner at your hotel.

Journey to Bwindi – The Land of the Gorillas
After an early breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive towards Bwindi ImpenetrableNational Park in Uganda, a UNESCO World Heritage site that is home to some of the world’s last remaining mountain gorillas. The drive will take approximately 4-5 hours, passing through the beautiful Kigezi Highlands, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa” for its rolling hills and dramatic scenery. Along the way, you will cross the border from Rwanda to Uganda, with assistance provided for border formalities.

As you approach Bwindi, you will be captivated by the lush, misty forest that surrounds the park. Upon arrival at your lodge, nestled in the heart of the forest, you will check in, enjoy a relaxing lunch, and take in the tranquil atmosphere of this remote haven. The rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore your surroundings, preparing for the thrilling gorilla trekking experience that awaits.

A Day of Discovery – The Thrill of Gorilla Trekking
Today marks the highlight of your adventure gorilla trekking in the breathtaking Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for an informative briefing by the expert rangers. They will guide you on the rules and etiquette for trekking, ensuring that your experience is safe, respectful, and enriching for both you and the gorillas.

Once the briefing is complete, you will be assigned to a small group and a ranger guide, and the trek will begin. The trek can range from 2 to 8 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. As you make your way through the dense, rugged terrain of Bwindi’s ancient forest, you’ll be surrounded by the sounds of birds, monkeys, and the vibrant natural beauty of the park.

When you finally reach the gorillas, you’ll spend up to one hour observing them as they go about their daily activities. You may witness a dominant silverback keeping watch over his family, playful young gorillas interacting with each other, or a mother caring for her infant. This encounter will leave you in awe of these magnificent creatures, as well as the dedicated conservation efforts that have made this experience possible.

After the trek, return to your lodge to rest, enjoy a warm meal, and reflect on the extraordinary experience you’ve had. You will have the afternoon at leisure to relax, perhaps visit a local village, or engage in other optional activities such as a nature walk or cultural tour.

A Final Scenic Drive Back to Kigali
After breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Kigali, with a scenic drive through the rolling hills and rural landscapes of southwestern Uganda. The drive will take approximately 4-5 hours, offering beautiful views of the countryside as you make your way back to Rwanda.

Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be transferred directly to Kigali International Airport, where you can catch your onward flight. If your flight schedule allows, you may have some time for last-minute shopping or a brief visit to one of Kigali’s vibrant craft markets.
