Discover the Majesty of Amboseli in 3 Days

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi and Transfer to Amboseli National Park

On Day 1, you will arrive in Nairobi either by flight or road. Upon arrival, your safari guide will meet you and you will begin your journey to Amboseli National Park, which is approximately a 4–5-hour drive from Nairobi. Along the way, you will pass through rural Kenya, with stunning views of the Great Rift Valley and, if you’re lucky, glimpses of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the horizon.

Upon arrival at Amboseli, you will check in to your accommodation and enjoy a welcome lunch. Afterward, you’ll embark on your first game drive in the park. Amboseli is famous for its large herds of elephants, and you will likely see these majestic creatures roaming the plains, often with Mount Kilimanjaro towering in the background. You will also spot a variety of other wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and a wide range of bird species.

In the evening, you’ll return to your accommodation for a hearty dinner, followed by a relaxing night surrounded by the African wilderness.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drives in Amboseli National Park

On Day 2, you’ll begin your day with an early breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive. This is typically the best time for game viewing as the animals are most active during the cooler hours of the morning. In the park, you’ll have the opportunity to see a wide range of animals, from elephants and lions to cheetahs, gazelles, and wildebeests. Amboseli is also home to an impressive variety of birdlife, including flamingos, ostriches, and herons.

After your morning game drive, you’ll return to your lodge or camp for a lunch break. After lunch, you will head out for a second game drive in the park. This drive will take you through other areas of the park, including the Amboseli swamps, where herds of elephants and other wildlife often gather to drink and cool off. You will also have the opportunity to visit Observation Hill, where you can take in panoramic views of the park and spot wildlife from a distance.

As the sun sets, you’ll return to your accommodation for dinner and enjoy the tranquil evening, possibly listening to the sounds of the African bush under the stars.

Day 3: Final Game Drive and Return to Nairobi

On the final day, you will have an early breakfast before embarking on your last morning game drive in Amboseli National Park. This is the perfect opportunity to capture any final wildlife sightings and enjoy the stunning landscape of the park with Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop. Whether it’s seeing a lion pride or watching elephants graze in the early morning light, this final game drive offers a last chance to fully appreciate the beauty and diversity of Amboseli.

After your game drive, you will return to your accommodation for a leisurely lunch. Following lunch, you’ll check out and begin your journey back to Nairobi. The drive back will take about 4-5 hours, allowing you to reflect on the incredible experiences and wildlife encounters you’ve had during your time in Amboseli National Park.

Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward journey.
