Details Itinerary

Upon arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by your driver-guide and driven to Amboseli National Park, located approximately 4-5 hours (240 km) southeast of Nairobi. Along the way, enjoy the scenic views of the countryside, with a glimpse of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge or camp, relax, and enjoy lunch. In the late afternoon, head out on your first game drive in Amboseli National Park, renowned for its massive herds of elephants, along with other wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, and buffaloes. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation: Nyati Safari Camp

Start the day early with a morning game drive in Amboseli, taking in the sights of elephants and other wildlife against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli is famous for its stunning landscapes, salt flats, and the abundant wildlife that roams the park. You may also visit the Amboseli Swamps, which attract various animals like elephants, wildebeest, and several bird species. After the morning game drive, return to your lodge for a relaxing brunch and enjoy some leisure time.

In the afternoon, enjoy a second game drive through the park, continuing your search for wildlife. If time permits, you can visit a nearby Maasai village for an immersive cultural experience, learning about the traditions and lifestyle of the local Maasai people. After a full day of safari experiences, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation: Nyati Safari Camp

After breakfast, check out of your accommodation and begin your drive to Lake Nakuru National Park (approximately 5-6 hours, 300 km). The drive will take you through the Great Rift Valley, offering picturesque views of the valley floor, rolling hills, and local villages. Upon arrival at Lake Nakuru, check in to your lodge and enjoy lunch.

Lake Nakuru is famous for its flamingo population (though numbers may vary seasonally) and is also one of the best places in Kenya to see both black and white rhinos. After lunch, embark on a game drive around the lake, where you will also see herds of buffalo, giraffes, and possibly lions and leopards in the park’s diverse habitats. The Park is also home to numerous bird species, making it a birdwatcher’s paradise. After the game drive, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation: Buraha zenoni resort

After breakfast, check out and begin the journey to Masai Mara National Reserve (approximately 5-6 hours, 280 km). Enjoy the scenic drive, passing through the Great Rift Valley and entering the Maasai Mara region, which is part of the larger Mara-Serengeti ecosystem. The Masai Mara is famous for its exceptional wildlife and offers the chance to see the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) along with many other species.

Upon arrival, check in to your lodge or camp and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive in the Masai Mara, where you’ll have the chance to witness the stunning landscapes and a wide variety of wildlife. Depending on the season, you may also witness the migration of wildebeest and zebras across the Mara River. Return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Accommodation: Olmoran Tented Camp

On your final day, set out for an early game drive in the Masai Mara to maximize your chances of spotting wildlife such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, which are often more active in the early hours. You may also have the opportunity to witness a river crossing if you’re visiting during the Great Migration season (typically July to October). After the morning game drive, return to your accommodation for breakfast.

After breakfast, check out and embark on your final game drive in the Masai Mara. This will be your last chance to spot any wildlife you may have missed or to revisit your favorite spots. Afterward, start your journey back to Nairobi (approximately 5-6 hours). Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight, or to a Nairobi hotel if you plan to extend your stay in the city.
