Altitude: 1,800m – 2,950m
Hike Time: ~3.5 hours
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel at 7:30 AM. You’ll travel to Chogoria Town, where you’ll meet the rest of your trekking team including guides and porters. From here, a 4×4 vehicle will take you through the scenic mountain terrain to Bairunyi, the trailhead. Begin your hike through the lower montane forest to reach Chogoria Bandas where you’ll enjoy dinner and overnight stay in a rustic mountain lodge.
Altitude: 2,950m – 3,300m
Hike Time: ~4 hours
After breakfast, continue your trek through the rich bamboo forest and lush rainforest. The trail gradually ascends to the picturesque Lake Ellis, nestled in the highlands of Mount Kenya. Enjoy a peaceful afternoon by the lake, followed by dinner and overnight camping under the stars.
Altitude: 3,300m – 4,150m
Hike Time: ~6 hours
Today’s route takes you along the edge of the Gorges Valley, offering breathtaking panoramic views. On a clear day, you can spot Mugi Hills, the Giants Billiards Table, and Mount Kenya’s rugged peaks. A picnic lunch is served en route. Reach Mintos Hut in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight in camp.
Altitude: 4,150m – 4,985m – 3,300m
Hike Time: ~8–10 hours
Rise early at 2:00 AM for tea and biscuits before beginning your summit ascent under the stars. The trek to Point Lenana (4,985m) takes about 3.5 hours. From the summit, enjoy a stunning sunrise and, weather permitting, distant views of Mount Kilimanjaro’s Kibo peak.
After photos and a moment to take it all in, descend to Shipton’s Camp for a hearty breakfast, then continue down to Old Moses Camp for dinner and a well-deserved rest.
Altitude: 3,300m – 2,650m
Hike Time: ~2 hours
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed descent through montane forest to the Sirimon Gate, where your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to Nairobi or onward to the rest of your program.
