Itinerary

Visit 1Nairobi National Park

On your game drives here, just 10km (6mi) south of the city, you’ll be on the watch for hyena, impala, ostrich and over 400 species of birds.

Visit 2David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage

Within the borders of the park lies the most special animal sanctuary in the world. We’ll visit this unique reserve where rescued baby elephants are saved and nursed back to health. Feeding time is at 11:00 am and we’ll be there to enjoy the sight of dozens of these babies feeding from enormous milk bottles.

Feeding is followed by bath time as the tiny elephants roll about and cavort in giant mud baths.

After enjoying to feed the baby elephants, it will be time for you to have your lunch. You will have the opportunity to enjoy your delicious lunch at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden or the world-famous Carnivore restaurant.

Visit 3Karen Blixen Museum

This is the former African home of Danish author Karen Blixen at the foot of the Ngong Hills. Famously known for her book Out Of Africa which chronicles life at the estate.

Here Blixen established a coffee plantation in colonial Africa. The museum features artifacts from her life as well as props from the classic movie which was shot close by.

Visit 4Giraffe Centre

Later in the afternoon visit to the Giraffe Center, where you’ll have a chance to learn about the endangered Rothschild giraffe and see how major conservation efforts are being made to protect this graceful animal.

Here you can climb the high platform and try your hand at feeding one of the towering creatures. Some lucky visitors here have the opportunity to have a giraffe kiss!

It also includes an Information Centre and Nature Trail where you can see warthogs, birds and more. The Centre is also a favorite of Kenya’s schoolchildren, and you’re sure to spot plenty of them as well.

Visit 5Kazuri Beads

This is a fitting end to a day highlighting Kenya’s creative enterprises. Combining imagination, artistic vision and the desire for self-sufficiency, Kazuri has become a thriving business where people learn the skills and expertise to support themselves while creating beautiful beaded jewelry.
