7-Day Dar es Salaam & Zanzibar Cultural & Beach Adventure
This itinerary goes beyond the beach — from Dar es Salaam you cross by ferry to Zanzibar and spend five days going deep into Stone Town's alleyways, a spice plantation, the canopy of Jozani Forest, the daily life of a coastal fishing village and the open ocean in search of dolphins. Day 1
Arrival in Dar es Salaam — Leisure & Pre-Trip Briefing
- • Our representative meets you at Julius Nyerere International Airport and transfers you to your hotel for a free afternoon to acclimatise, before the group gathers in the evening for a pre-trip briefing on the days ahead.
Day 2
Ferry to Zanzibar — First Steps into Stone Town
- • After breakfast, take the roughly two-hour ferry across to Zanzibar, where you're met and transferred to your Stone Town accommodation for a free afternoon to wander the old town's streets. Stone Town's iconic streets, Zanzibar's turquoise coastline and the timeless sight of dhows on the harbour
Day 3
Stone Town Cultural Discovery
- • A full guided day through Stone Town — the House of Wonders, Palace Museum and Arab Fort in the morning, then the carved-door backstreets, Darajani Market and the Anglican Cathedral in the afternoon. Jozani Forest — Home of the Red Colobus Monkey The Zanzibar Red Colobus is found nowhere else on Earth, and Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park protects its last significant population. A walk through the canopy to see them at close range — followed by the quiet mangrove boardwalk — is one of the island's most memorable experiences.
Day 4
Spice Tour, Jozani Forest & Transfer to the Beach
- • A full day inland to coast — a morning spice-farm tour with a host-served lunch, then south to Jozani-Chwaka Bay for the Red Colobus Monkeys before transferring to your beach resort by late afternoon. Jozani's forest interior and Zanzibar's quiet east coast beaches — two very different sides of the same island
Day 5
Jambiani Cultural Village Experience
- • Spend the day in Jambiani, a traditional fishing village on the quiet east coast — meet a local herbalist, walk with the women tending their seaweed farms at low tide, and visit small organic plantations.
Day 6
Dolphin Safari in Kizimkazi & Afternoon Leisure
- • An early dhow trip from Kizimkazi in search of resident bottlenose and humpback dolphins, back by mid-morning for lunch and a completely free afternoon. Optional: Sunset sundowner experience — additional cost.
Day 7
Departure — Ferry Back to Dar es Salaam
- • A final breakfast, then transfer to the Zanzibar ferry terminal for the crossing back to Dar es Salaam, where our services end and you can arrange your onward travel.
